Robert Bob Landis, affectionately known as Codfish, 38, died suddenly on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at home.
Codfish was born on February 3, 1975 in Wayne County. He worked several different places as a construction worker before his health forced him onto disability. Codfish was an avid fisherman and though he lacked the keen eyesight needed for hunting, he could fill the boat with fish at any given time. He also loved watching movies and spending time with his nieces and nephews. His father, Robert David Landis, Sr. and his brother Robert David Landis, Jr. preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sharon and Ralph Howard of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Jada Nichole Landis of Garden City, Alabama; brother, Philip Talarino, III of Jesup; sister and brother-in-law, Cherie and Chad Evors of Jesup; step brothers, Simon Howard of California and Daniel Howard of Mt. Pleasant as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Akin Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Don Proctor officiating. Active pallbearers will be Gary Futch, Chad Evors, Chris Perritt, Michael Phillips, Philip Talarino and Jesse Jacobs.
