Odum-Bobbie Jean Ogden Shuptrine, 81, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital. 

She was born in Wheeler County and lived inWayne County over 60 years.  She was a retired educator from the Wayne County School System where she taught elementary and Special Education and was the first Homebound/Hospital teacher forWayne County.  She attended Brewton-Parker College, graduated from Georgia Southern and attended LSU.  She was a member of the Altamaha Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School class.  She actively supported and served in missions. 

Her husbands, Harrel Ogden and George Shuptrine, parents, Ira Frank and Nannie Hardin Pitts, and siblings, James Pitts, Jodie Pitts, Nealy Rogers, and Irene Ussery preceded her in death.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Harolyn and Jerry Blanton of Odum, sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Ogden and Dinah of Odum and Ronnie Ogden and Terri of Jesup, stepdaughter and son-in-law Deana Shuptrine Davis and Chuck of St. Simons, stepson and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Sandra Shuptrine of Screven, grandchildren, Millie Carter, Dustin Ogden, Ron Ogden, Chad Ogden, Carrie Peel and Josh Blanton, step-grandchildren, Claire Caldwell and Taylor Davis, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 11 at 3:00 P.M.from the Altamaha Baptist Churchwith Rev. Jack Lee officiating. 

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Todd Carter, Josh Blanton, Ron Ogden, Dustin Ogden, Taylor Davis, and Rick Peel.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Altamaha Baptist Church.

Visitation will be at the church prior to services beginning at 1:30 P.M.
