Allen Palmer

Allen Davis Palmer, III, 47, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Memorial Health University.

Allen was born in Americus, Georgia and had lived in Jesup most of his life. He was a family man who loved the Georgia Bulldogs, the Wayne County Yellow Jackets and the Atlanta Falcons. A beloved coworker and friend, Allen was employed as a maintenance man at Burger King and had worked previously for American Tank and Welding. He also loved good southern food, family vacations at the beach, pumpkin pie and boiled peanuts. Allen was also an animal lover and attended First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Davis Palmer, Jr.; maternal grandfather, Hamp Heath and paternal grandparents, Lois Bouchea and Allen Palmer, Sr.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Barbara and David Haralson of Jesup; sister and brother-in-law, Staci and John Barra of Charleston, SC; grandmother, Thelma Heath of Bristol; stepbrother Jeff Palmer and wife, Jennifer of Monroe, North Carolina; stepmother, Jacqui Palmer of Hephzibah, Georgia; stepsisters and their husbands, Anna and Stan Powell of Wrightsville, GA and Leigh and Floyd Potter of Sandersville, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Dianne and Dan Clary of Jesup, Janette and Randy Deal of Bristol, Georgia, Vivian Murray of Brunswick, Thomas and Pat Heath of Baxley, Vickie and Charles Cooper of Martinez, Georgia and Julie and Barry Mullins and special nephews, Jacob Barra, Justin Palmer and Jordan Palmer. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Jesup with the Reverends Mike VonMoss and Felix Haynes officiating. Active Pallbearers will be John Deal, Dan Clary, Michael Murray, Thomas Rousseau, Shaun O’Quinn and Jeff Palmer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen’s coworkers at Burger King and his former co-workers at American Tank and Welding.
