Wilma Lea Edenfield Brown, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at home under the care of Hospice of South Georgia after an extended illness while surrounded by her loving family.

The Wayne County native was a faithful member of the Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church. She lived many years in Savannah, GA, while her husband worked at Union Camp. She was a homemaker and also worked in Brown’s Restaurant while living in Savannah. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horice “Sinnie” Brown; her parents, William “Bill” Edenfield and Bessie Lewis Edenfield; five sisters, Eudell Groover, Minie Groover, Alverta Williams, Geneva Eason and Dorothy Bunton; four brothers, Ace Edenfield, W.J. Edenfield, Jessie “Josh” Edenfield and Wendell “Sam” Edenfield.

She is survived by her son, Cecil R. Brown and daughter-in-law, Linda Brown of Jesup; a brother, Harmon Edenfield of Jesup; a sister-in-law, Tommie Edenfield of Jesup; two grandsons, Keith Anthony Brown of Jesup and Mike Brown of Statesboro; a great grandson, Dustin Brown of Savannah and a great granddaughter Sydney Brown of Statesboro.

Pallbearers will be W.A. Edenfield, Merle Edenfield, Kary Edenfield, Tom Groover, Ricky Tyre and Joey Todd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Todd, Jack Groover, Billy Tyre and Johnny Tyre.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday in the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Elder Randy Strickland and Rev. Billy Livesay officiating.

Interment will follow in Lake Chapel Cemetery, Pierce County, GA.
