Warren Williams Obituary

Warren E. "Gene" Williams, 59, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, Warren was born on October 27, 1954. A man of many talents, Warren had operated several businesses over the years and was a master carpenter. He had also worked at Rayonier Performance Fibers before his health forced retirement. A former pastor and skilled musician and singer, Warren was a member of the House of Worship & Ministries. He was a true entrepreneur at heart and was always looking for opportunities to help make his living. Warren volunteered his time with the Georgia State Defense Force and when he wasn’t working, Warren’s favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Glenn Williams; a sister, Leila Sylvia Crews and a step sister, Ella May "Lucy" Johnson.

He is survived by four children and their spouses, Christopher and Wendy Williams of White Springs, Florida’ Benjamin and Barbara Williams of Welborn, Florida, Amber and Christopher King of Offerman, Georgia and Paula Williams of Live Oak, Florida; his mother, Hazel W. Lee of Jesup; five brothers, Eugene Timothy Manders of Waycross, James Paul Groover of Glennville, Henry Vernon Allen, Jr. of Jesup, Robert Lee Fail of Claxton and Sidney Lytrell Fail of Jesup. Fifteen Grandchildren, two Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Reverend Mickey Tomberlin officiating.

Interment will follow in Jesup City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be elders of the House of Worship & Ministries.
