Tony Lastinger Obituary
Tony Lastinger, 73, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, Tony was born on January 5, 1944 to the late Mattie Lee and Jesse Elmer Lastinger. He grew up in the Empire School Community and was a 1962 graduate of Wayne County High School. Tony served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era and worked at Rayonier for more than forty years. He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of his spare time fishing, hunting, shooting guns, golfing and training bird dogs. Tony’s perfect day was a dove field with a few friends and a good bird dog.
Survivors include his daughter, Sabra Lastinger Maddox and husband, Danny of St. Simons Island; son, Jesse Anthony Lastinger, II and wife, Kelly of Crystal River, Florida and three grandchildren, Isabella Owens of St. Simons Island and Wyatt and Keelin Lastinger of Crystal River, Florida.
Services will be held privately by the family.
