Ronnie Joseph “Joey” Ryals

Townsend-Ronnie Joseph “Joey” Ryals, 38, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 in Gwinett County.

Joey was born in Wayne County and had lived in McIntosh County on the family homeplace all of his life. He loved crabbing, hunting and fishing and had a special personal hobby of pulling ears. He was a friendly man who was kind to everyone, especially his children and was a great father. Joey was quite the talker and loved riding the dirt roads. He worked as a commercial crabber and had operated heavy equipment in the past. Joey attended the Darien Church of God and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy Ryals, Rudell and Lawson Howard.

Survivors include his Wife Lindsey Ryals of Ludowici; his children, Alyssa Renea Ryals and Ronnie Joseph Ryals Jr. of Brunswick; his Mother Patricia Howard (Michael) of Auburn, GA; his Father Ronnie Ryals (Mary) of Townsend; his Brother Daniel Ryals (Shayna) of Townsend and his Grandmother Ima Jean Merritt of Townsend. He is also survived by Aunts and Uncles; two Nieces, and one Nephew.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 in the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel of the Howard & Jones Funeral Home with the Reverends Danny Stillwell and Tommy Whaley officiating.

Burial will follow in Plum Orchard Cemetery, Townsend, GA.

Active Pallbearers will be Don Rozier, Jonathan Rozier, Shawn Hewett, Keith Oglesby, Lyle Reddish and Ronnie Kirkland, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ginn and Wilford Middleton.
