Mary Ryals Obituary

A lifelong resident of Townsend, Mary or Meg as she was affectionately known by her family, was born on September 14, 1968 in Brunswick. She was a pharmacy tech by trade and had worked many years for Darien Pharmacy. Mary attended the Darien Church of God and enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. She was always "on the go" and loved to cook and care for her family. She was preceded in death by her father, George Gardner and stepson, Joey Ryals.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-six years, Ronnie Ryals; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Shayna Ryals; mother and stepfather, Elouise and Ronald Howard; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Gidgett; five grandchildren, Tanner Blake Ryals, Abigail Howard, Kaelyn Howard, Ronnie Joseph Ryals, Jr. and Alyssa Renee Ryals all of Townsend. Numerous other extended family members also survive.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Darien Church of God with Reverends Tommy Whaley and Danny Stillwell officiating.

Interment will follow in Plum Orchard Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Shawn Hewitt, Jonathan Rozier, Tim Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Mike Sears, Billy Sears, Evan Strickland and Rusty Howard.

Mary will always be remembered as a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother who was big hearted and had an unending love for her family and friends.
