Marianne Pierce, born in Columbus, GA on March 28, 1930, a resident of Jesup, Georgia since 1976, died October 26, 2015 at Riverplace Retirement Home in Columbus, Georgia.
The daughter of the late Sarah Lee Agnes Hilliard Allen and Hugh Asa Allen. She attended Baker High School in Columbus, GA and was a long standing member of St Paul's Episcopal Church in Jesup. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Carol Aleen Allen, Barbara Allen Van Natter, Vivian Allen Adams and Luellen Allen Tomblin; her brothers Hugh Hilliard Allen, Herbert Edsel Allen, and James "Jimmy" Elton Allen and her Grandson Robert Skylar McClellan. She is survived by her husband, Robert Warren Pierce (Bob) of Columbus, Georgia, her daughters Cathy Ann Hagler (Harold) of Phenix City, Alabama and Angela Lynn Pierce (Scott) of Boise, Idaho; her sons Robert Earl McClellan (Sandy) of Columbus, Georgia, Robert Clesson Pierce (Diane) of Redmon, Utah. She is also survived by her sisters, Sara Allen Joiner, and Kaye Allen Kyle; and her brother, Paul Allen (Kathy), along with four grand children, Angela Kaye Picard of Phenix City, Alabama, Mark Harold Hagler of Phenix City, Alabama, Jeffery Earl Hagler (Gwen) of Columbus, Georgia and Stacey Raquel Walden (Travis) of Redding, California; five great grand children and 3 great-great-grand children, numerous extended family members and her church family.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, November 1, 5 pm to 7 pm at Howard & Jones Funeral Home, 777 S 1st St., Jesup, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be Monday, November 2, 10 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 745 S. Palm St., Jesup, Georgia followed by a Graveside service at Bonaventure Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Rd, Thunderbolt, Georgia 31404.
Active Pallbearers will be Rob Brooks, Ben Cason, Travis Walden, Brice Hagler, Jeffery Hagler, Mark Hagler and Stewart Jaehnig.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Shriners Children's Hospital, C/O ALEE Shiners, P.O. Box 14147, Savannah, Georgia 31416 or to a local charity of your choice.
