Jesup-Lavern Jones, 70, of Jesup, GA, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, as a result of an accident.

She was a native of Wayne County, had lived in Savannah where she worked as a floral designer, returning toWayne County in 1994.  She was a 1959 graduate of Wayne County High School and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a member of Faith Chapel Southern Congregational Methodist Church in Jesup.

 Her husband, Kenneth N. Jones, Sr., preceded her in death.

Survivors are her sons Kenneth N. Jones, Jr. (Milinda) of Savannah, and Steve Jones (Pam) of Odum; her sisters Carolyn Leggett (Ron) of Odum, Johnnie Mae Woods (Don) and Sherry Lynn (Robert), both of Jesup; her brothers Kenneth Starling (Judy), Billy Starling (Kitty) and Jim Starling (Lolita), all of Jesup; grandchildren Lindsay Jones, Casey Jones, Michael Jones, and Brandon Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held onTuesday, July 10, 2012, from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 11:00 A.M., at the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. James Carter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

 Active Pallbearers will be Gary Pierce, Mark Reddish, Buddy Starling, Richard Surrency, Doug Stephens, Ramon Damaso, John Starling and Chris Starling.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Faith Chapel SCMC Adult Sunday School Class.
