Laotha Riendeau, 77, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 at home under the care of Heartland Hospice after a long illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, Laotha was born on May 4, 1938 to the late Luther and Mary Ann Westberry. She attended church at New Hope Baptist and was a homemaker while her husband worked as a long haul truck driver.
In addition to her parents, her brother, James Westberry and great granddaughter, Erica Cosenza, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Arthur "Cigar" Riendeau of Jesup; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Nickie Riendeau of Jesup, Terry and Marsha Riendeau of Odum and Robbie and Brandi Riendeau of Odum; one daughter, Teresa Burks of Jesup; one sister, Loretta McCall of Brunswick; cousin whom she loved like a sister, Irene Riendeau; and nine grandchildren, James Riendeau, Brandi Thrift, Robert Riendeau, Trevor Riendeau, Tyler Riendeau, Britni Burks, Keiya Riendeau, Amber Riendeau and Chelsea Riendeau. A host of great grandchildren also survive as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her two closest friends, Lucy Driggers and Peggy Kirkland.
Private services will be held at a later date.
