John Robert Corlette, 82, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at home.
John was born on October 26, 1936 to the late Herbert James and Edna Caroline Davis Corlette. He worked for King Shrimp in his younger years before he took a job with Kut Kwick, from which he retired after over thirty years of employment. John enjoyed fishing and built several boats in his spare time. He loved his family and always provided for all their needs as best he could. He was a true country boy and there wasn’t much he couldn’t do if he put his mind to it.
In addition to his parents, his brother, James “Jimmy” Corlette,Jr; sisters, Lillian Corlette Lyons and Jean Corlette Zorn; son, William AllenSatterfield and son-in-law, Wade Harrison Lynn preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Linda DeAnna Corlette of Darien; two daughters, Vivian Lynn of Darien and Linda “Tiny” Harris and husband, Carl of Townsend; son, John Corlette, Jr.; brother, Ernest Joseph Corlette of Darien; sister, Rebecca Ann Atwood of Brunswick; grandchildren, Courtney Harris and husband, Patrick, Heather Wells and husband, Joseph, Cody Lynn and wife, Brittany Melvins, Ray Harris and wife, Jessica and great grandchildren, Justin Lynn and wife, Jennifer, Devonte Jimerson, Adam Wells, Tra Lynn, Joshua Bell, Dylan Wells, Kaleb Harris, Bryson Melvins and Addilyn Harris. Numerous nieces, nephews cousins and extended family members also survive.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Darien with Reverend Mike Lynn officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
