Frances was born on August 12, 1941 in Denver, North Carolina to the late Kainey and Elida Potter. She lived her early years in North Carolina before moving to New Mexico with her husband. The two of them settled in Jesup in 2002, where they have lived since then. As a young woman, Frances worked in the Textile Mills in North Carolina and had also worked as a bartender. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, but her true love was her family. She enjoyed raising her children and making her house a home. In later years, she devoted her life to her grandchildren, which always took top priority in her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Wayne Stewart and her brother Bill Potter.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-six years, Wayne F. Morgan of Jesup, GA; two daughters, Jennifer Boyte of Jesup, GA and Susan Dellinger of Lincolnton, NC; one son, Weldon Burton, Jr. and wife Yung-Mi of Seoul, South Korea; two brothers, Kainey “Bud” Potter of Lincolnton, NC and Cleautes Potter of Newton, NC and a sister, Betty Potter Sisk of Denver, NC. Fourteen Grandchildren, nine Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
