Edward "Shorty" Foster, 70, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at home surrounded by his family under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
A longtime resident of Florida, Shorty was born on March 20, 1947 in Independence, Iowa to the late John and Charlotte Foster . He relocated to Jesup in the late nineties after his retirement from Southern Bell with thirty years of service and enjoyed hunting, air boating and playing with his "Big Boy Toys" while spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, his brother Russell Foster preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Juanita Foster of Jesup, Georgia ; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnnie and Sue Foster, Donnie and Lisa Foster and Ronnie and Bethani Foster; six grandchildren, Ryan Moates, Dustin Moates, Jonathan Foster, Amber Foster, Clayton Foster and Marriah Foster; three great grandchildren, Bentley Parsons, Luke Moates and Hailey Moates all of Cocoa, Florida and his brother-in-law, Richard Hughes of Jesup, Georgia. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Todd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Jesup City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.
