Debbie Lorene May Edge, 54, died Sunday, February, 17, 2013 at Memorial Health University in Savannah after a long illness.
Debbie was born on February 8, 1959 to the late Charles Curtis and Daisey Johnson Mathis in Wayne County, the place where she spent most of her life. She worked several different jobs over the years but always loved being a homemaker. She enjoyed playing sports, namely softball, in her younger years and had a true passion for cooking. Debbie also liked to fish and attended church at the Unity Church of God. Her grandchildren and family were her pride and joy and she cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to her parents, her sister, Janice May and daughter, Eva Dykes preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Elisha Edge of Odum; three sons, Rocky Edge of Jesup, John Kinchen of Brunswick and wife, Shirley and Dee Edge of Soperton, Georgia; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Dollie Gates, Sally Mosley and Sandra and Mike Silva all of Jesup; two brothers, Mark Mathis and Carl May both of Jesup; and nine grandchildren, Dylan, Blake, Jasmine, Hailey, Cameron, Caitlyn, Denver, Cadance and Zachary. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.
