Christine Griffis Obituary
Christine Griffis, 75, passed away on Tuesday, April 07, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
A resident of Jesup for the past forty-five years, Christine was born on October 3, 1939 in Douglas, Georgia to the late Lucille and Lester Jewell. She was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker who enjoyed fishing and watching wrestling on television in her spare time. In addition to her parents, her husband, Willard Griffis, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her three daughters, Celia Ferguson of Orlando, Florida, Renee Goodman of Midway and Leslie Goodman and husband, Felipe Martinez of Screven; two sons, Robert Goodman and Ronald Harvey Griffis both of Jesup; two brothers, Milton Jewell of Douglas and J.H. Jewell and wife, Cherry of Waycross; one sister, Louellen Jewell of Waycross and six grandchildren, Justin, Tashma, Jeremy, Jessica, Dana and Ashley. Three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
