Aline Crawford Obituary
Aline Crawford, 82, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Wayne Memorial Hospital under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.
A Brantley County native, Mrs. Crawford was a resident of Wayne County most of her life. She was co-founder and co-owner of Crawford’s Produce and also co- founder and owner of Crawford Jewelers in Jesup where she worked over forty-five years. Mrs. Crawford was a long time member of Anderson Drive Baptist Church where she attended the Heaven Bound Sunday School Class. She was a loving and caring person who, along with her husband, had taken in nine different people in need over the years. Family was her true love and they spent countless days fishing and camping together. Her loyalty to family was unmatched and she never missed a family reunion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen G. and Thelma Griffin Lee; her stepmother, Emmie Lee; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Owen G. and Edmee Lee and Carlton Lee and one brother-in-law, Irvin Driggers. Her husband of fifty years, Jasper J. Crawford also preceded her in death as well as her infant grandson Anthony Carlton Crawford.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Ladon "Don" and Diane Crawford, Delane and Eva Crawford and Anthony and Lydia Crawford all of Jesup; one daughter, Cindy Crawford Fowler of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Josephine and Alton Cason of Waycross and Shirley Driggers of Hoboken; one brother and sister-in-law, Alex and Trudy Lee of Hoboken and one sister-in-law, Ava Lee of Hoboken. Nine grandchildren, Ladon Crawford, Rebecca Bailey, Geoffrey Crawford, Brian Crawford, Hannah Myers, Grace Triplett, Megan Crawford, Melanie Crawford and Jacob Crawford, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Reverend John Brown officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ladon Crawford, Casey Crawford, Geoffrey Crawford, Brian Crawford, Ray Myers and Ryan Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Heaven Bound Sunday School Class.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
