A lifelong resident of Wayne County, Snuffy was born on January 26, 1959 in Jesup to the late Roscoe and Evelyn Hopkins. He was a cabinet maker by trade and had also worked as a concrete finisher. Snuffy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. In addition to his parents, his wife, Barbara Reeves Hopkins; his brother, Sidney Hopkins and his sister, Mary Mansfield preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Sarah and Matthew Zeeb of Jesup and Angela Mansfield of Tennessee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff, Jr. and Tawny Hopkins and Tommy and Gabriel Mansfield all of Jesup; seven brothers and sisters and their spouses, Barbara and James Jones of Odum, Jimmy and Deleta Hopkins of Baxley, Carolyn and Morris Mansfield of Odum, Glenn Hopkins of Odum, Ellen Mansfield of Jesup, Susie and Dillard Mansfield of Odum and Richard and Anita Hopkins of Odum; and seven grandchildren, Destiny Roberson, Rebecca Roberson, Dillan Roberson, Lexi Hopkins, Mattie Hopkins, James Mansfield and Seanna Mansfield. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Harris officiating.
Interment will follow in Flint Branch Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Zeeb, Steven Needham, Tommy Mansfield and Jeff Hopkins, Jr.
