A resident of Jesup since 1965, Mrs. Cole was born on June 6, 1924 in Asheboro, North Carolina to the late Jonathan Sylvester and Pearl Hill Trotter. She was known for her strong work ethic and had worked for many years at Western Auto before she began a second career along with her son and late husband at Dixie Auto Salvage.
In addition to her parents, her husband Earl W. Cole and her brother, Odell Trotter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her three children, Carolyn Cole Lane and husband, Roger of Gainesville, GA, Randall Webster Cole of Jesup and Onda Cole Woodard and husband, Bruce of Jesup; five siblings, Jonathan Sylvester Trotter, Jr. of Cedar Falls, NC, Eunice Trotter Crotts and husband, Frank of Burlington, NC, Lois Trotter Byrum and husband, George of Asheboro, NC, Billy Trotter of Asheboro, NC and Burnice Trotter of Trinity, NC; sister-in-law, Burnis Trotter of Lexington, NC; and six grandchildren, Dana Lane Romeo and husband, Frank, Dea Lane Canova and husband, Brian, Brenton Webster Cole and wife, Milly, Alexis Cole Harrison and husband, Travis, Erica Woodard and Dylan B. Woodard. Ten great grandchildren also survive as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends/caregivers, Mary Peacock, Evelyn Wright and Louise Sapp.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Howard & Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.
Graveside funeral services will be held privately in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to express special appreciation to the Staff of Hospice of South Georgia, Tina Hires and Shari Henderson, for the special loving care given to Mrs. Cole during her final days.
